While working on the Observatorium Sketchbook, one of the biggest struggles I had, was finding information on how to cope with the less than standard shape I chose for it. And no struggle was greater than trying to figure out how to wrap the circular hardcover with fabric.
If you’re also a traveler on the roads less traveled of craft-land, I hope that this short post covers the information that I found missing on my journey, so you can do more of the fun part, and less of the frustrated attempts, filled with flying fabric and sticky glue fingers.
How to wrap fabric around a circular cover
In this case, my wrapper of choice was a cotton-blend fabric with no stretch. Overall, using thick, enduring, no-stretch fabrics seems to be the way to go for wrapping hard-covers, but thick resilient paper can be used as well, and though I cannot swear by using this same steps for paper, I believe it may work more or less in the same way.
